Cyndi Atherton, PhD, Director of Science, Heising-Simons Foundation

Dr. Atherton has been with the Heising-Simons Foundation since 2013. At the Heising-Simons Foundation, she oversees discovery-driven projects primarily in the physical sciences and climate change science.

The Science Program at the Heising-Simons Foundation funds research in four main areas: Women in Physics & Astronomy; Fundamental Physics; Climate Change Science; and Astronomy & Cosmology.

In 2018, the Heising-Simons Science program granted 71 awards totaling $22.5 million.
