Speaker: Jeffrey Frelinger, PhD, Professor Department of Immunobiology University of Arizona
Title: "Vaccine Immunology- Interaction of Science and Voodoo in Valley Fever"

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Jeffrey Frelinger received his BA from the University of California, San Diego, and his PhD from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. Following his post-doctoral training at the University of Michigan, he joined the faculty of the University of Southern California. He then moved to the Univeristy of North Carolina, where he later became the chair of the Department of Microbiology Immunology. Jeffrey Frelinger joined the University of Arizona in 2010, where he took a leading role in the management of the ABBS graduate program. He has a longstanding interest in the genetics and biology of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules lab, the development and application of bioinformatic tools for T cell repertoire analysis, as well as the investigation of immune avoidance mechanisms of bacterial pathogens.
